Registration Information for the Degree in Tourism (GTUR)

Specific Recommendations for First Year Students on the Degree in Tourism

  • It is very important that you regularly check your university e-mail (XXX@estudiant.uib.es)—which was created at the time of enrolment—during September, since all official notifications from the Faculty of Tourism shall be made via the university's e-mail system.
  • If you would like to redirect your university e-mails to your personal e-mail address, please see this video: https://youtu.be/KtVf7vapY7g

Enrolment and Group Selection

  • Before enrolling, it is very important that you consult the timetables for the upcoming academic year. There are two class days a week per subject: one day for the large group (GG XX) and the other for the medium group (GM XXY). It is mandatory to enrol on one large group and one medium group per subject.
  • You must select the large group whilst formalising your enrolment. Then, once the application confirms that your enrolment has been processed successfully, you must proceed—WITHOUT exiting the application—and select the medium groups.
  • You can select the large groups and corresponding medium groups that best suit your needs (International Pathway, language of instruction, morning or afternoon, etc.). Here are two examples:
    • The subject 20400 has a large group in the morning (GG 14) and another one in the afternoon (GG 15). Once you have selected the large group (e.g. GG 14, taught in the morning) you must choose one of the medium groups for this subject (either GM 141 or GM 142).
    • The subject 20500 has two large groups in the morning (GG 10, taught in English; and GG 11) and two more in the afternoon (GG 12 and GG 13; the latter taught in English). Once you have selected the large group (e.g. GG 10, taught in English) you must select the only medium group that corresponds with it (GM 101).
  • Only justified group change requests shall be agreed, as long as the legal capacity of the lecture room and group, and current regulations allow it.

Information about Languages

  • The Degree in Tourism comprises a series of subjects taught entirely in English, which will enable students to pass the International Curricular Pathway.
  • The subjects German I and French I (taught in the first semester of the second year of the degree) begin directly at A2 level. Although not a requirement, students should have attained A1 level before the start of the course.

Registration Tutorials and Welcome Day

  • Check the GTUR/GATU registration tutorials to solve any doubts. If you are a student at the Minorca campus, please see the GTUR (Minorca) tutorial.
    • The dean's team will hold an informational session where they will explain the most relevant aspects of the academic program, the course structure, and address the main questions from students. This session will take place on the first day of class. During the first week of September, the student will receive an email with the date and time of the informational session.
